NEW RELEASE!! SANCTUARY, a relaxing and meditative new age CD will carry you away on a transcendental journey and let you discover new pathways to healing and finding peace. These compositions have been created using a variety of flutes, which include the modern C flute, the alto flute, and the Native American flute. She has created original and distinctive new age melodies with her flutes by Gregorian chants (Salve Regina), along with other worldly elements such as air and water.

Sanctuary is being played in Russia on Vladivostok Broadcasting's Radio Show, titled "Velvet Green", and Sherry is a featured artist for New Artist Radio (www.newartistradio.net).Sanctuary can be heard on Echoes On-Line (www.echoes.org), Spectrum FM Radio (www.spectrumradio.org), and WNMC (www.wnmc.org).

Sanctuary

Flutist Sherry Finzer’s latest release, Sanctuary, is an intoxicating voyage of sensual and transportive soundscapes in which her C, alto, and Native flutes float, course, and wind their way over a bed of rhythms, ambient effects, Gregorian chants, and nature sounds. The six tracks each explore a different segment of a sonic map. “Awakenings” is more tribal in nature, while “Celestial Voyage” has a quasi-subterranean aspect to it. “Mystic Haze” conveys a strong East Indian influence and “Ethereal Journey” presents a haunting, subtly disquieting electronica evocation. The burbling brook, muted thunderstorm, and lilting wooden flute of “Fortitude” meld into an amorphous “Peaceful Drift” buoyed by the sound of waves and gulls.

Sherry Finzer: Sanctuary

Sherry lives and teaches in the Ahwatukee area of Phoenix, and performs as a soloist and with a variety of professional musicians throughout the state of Arizona, from classical to jazz to world music, including harpists, guitarists, and keyboard players. She is Vice President of the Arizona Flute Society,a member for the National Flute Association, ASCAP and The Recording Academy.

Sherry believes that children should be introduced to music at a young age, and with the budget cuts in schools, and lack of funding for the school music programs, it is important to find other ways for children to be introduced to music. Their love for music should begin at an early age. That's why she has built the Arizona World Music Initiative....this is an interactive music awareness program based on pre-K through 5th grade.
